Tomelloso se ha convertido este domingo en foco de atención del atletismo provincial y regional con  la celebración de la 10 k “Ciudad de Tomelloso”, que  llenado las calles de corredores llegados también de otros puntos de la geografía nacional, con  récord de participación. 1040 atletas ha tomado la salida en esta carrera, run 88 incluida en el Circuito de Carreras Populares de Ciudad Real y  organizada, como novedad en esta séptima edición, por los tres clubes de atletismo de la localidad: José María Serna Seguros, Pieles Run y Manchathon junto con el área de Deportes del Ayuntamiento. Tanto el alcalde, Javier Navarro, como el concejal de Deportes, Benjamín de Sebastián y los representantes de los tres clubes organizadores se han mostrado muy satisfechos por la respuesta a esta convocatoria que, han coincidido en señalar, “queremos que siga creciendo año tras año”. Todos ellos han dado además las gracias a los voluntarios, colaboradores y patrocinadores, a Policía Local, Protección Civil y los trabajadores del área de Deportes del Ayuntamiento. El alcalde ha agradecido muy especialmente la implicación y la diposición de los tres clubes de atletismo de la localidad, “que se han unido para remar todos en la misma dirección y aunar sinergias”.
